15 Things I Love About Angeles

I grew up in Angeles City (not to be confused with Los Angeles). Most people probably know my city (if they even do) for the infamous Field(s) Avenue, which is such a small part of the city. So to balance out the negative opinions of Angeles, I came up with the 15 things I love about Angeles, in no particular order:

1. Niji
My favorite Japanese restaurant. Why is it that Japanese people still eat Japanese food when they’re out of their country?

2. Cold Spoon
This igloo-shaped yogurt joint has the best tasting tart-y yogurt I’ve tasted.

3. Clark Airport
With all the budget airlines operating from Clark, one can go to a lot of countries for the price of a song.

4. Running Square in Clark
I’m not sure about the name of this park, but it’s the one in front of Red Crab. The perimeter is around 2.5km so 2 rounds gives you a good 5k run.

5. Field Avenue
Love it or hate it, Field Avenue is still a place worth seeing.

6. Iguanas
This Mexican restaurant was formerly Zapata’s. It has serves one of the best fish tacos.

7. C
This resto is the home of the panizza.

8. Nepo Mart
From PX goods to dollars, you can buy some imported items here for reasonable prices.

9. Sunset
This is the neighborhood I grew up in. Driving on Friendship Hi-way under the canopy of trees reminds me of when I used to ride the kalesa going home.

10. Mimosa
If you love golf, then you will love Mimosa.

11. Fontana
If you don’t love golf but still want to be around Mimosa, then you will love Fontana.

12. SCTEX
This highway cuts through the most scenic mountains and fields.

13. Korea Town
From kimchi to pre-packed ice cream cake, Korea town gives you a taste of Korea.

14. Crowing Chicken
About a kilometer away from Korea town, Crowing Chicken still has the best spicy Korean chicken.

15. Santo Rosario St.
This street has one of the oldest churches in Angels, the Santo Rosario church. And for pizza lovers, there is Camalig.
