Kung Hei Fat Choi

Yes, I know it’s late, but i’ve been preoccupied with the testimonies of J. Lo aka Jun Lozada aka the crying boy aka “probinsyanong intsik” (I mean no disrespect to the Chinese community, I’m just quoting the Mr. Lozada). So happy Chinese new year anyway. I hope you were able to clean your house and get a haircut because according to the Chinese, it’s good luck to do so. I went the extra step and got my dog, who is a shih-tzu, a good shave. Now he went from looking like a thick rug to looking like a rat with long ears (how appropriate for this year). To start the year right, here’s something I read a long time ago which I think could help all of us have a positive outlook in the year of the rat. This is called Optimist’s Club Creed:

To be strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.

To talk health, happiness, prosperity to every person you meet.

To make all your friends feel that there is something of value in them.

To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.

To think only the best, to work only for the best, and to expect the best.

To be just as enthuisiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.

To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.

To wear a cheerful countenance at all time and give every living creature you meet a smile.

To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others.

To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit presence of trouble.
