Catch me on ETC A-List’s Modern Living in the Year of the Ox which airs on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at 8pm on ETC. My co-host,
Carlene Aguilar, and I were enlightened by the forecasts of the geomancer Master Joseph Chau for the year of the Ox. Being an Ox myself, I was a bit worried after I read in Master Chau’s book that if you’re born under the year of the Ox, it doesn’t automatically mean it will be a lucky year for you. Master Chau explained though that we make our own luck, but we also need to put in the hard work and extra effort because there is only one Creative Star for the Ox people this year. I was born in November, which makes me a water Ox. So for the year 2009, I should wear more fire colors, such as red, pink, orange, purple, etc. I also need to eat more “fire” food, like grilled meats or fish, shabu-shabu, and spicy Korean food. Anyway, it’s pretty complicated and there are a lot of things to remember, so just watch the show on Wednesday night. And you can also attend the Chinese New Year celebration at Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Makati on the eve of January 25th. Master Chau himself will be there as he is the official “mascot” of Mandarin’s Chinese New Year. I hope everyone has an auspicious year!!! Kung Hei Fat Choi!!!
